Nenuka Hettiarachchi has always been at home in the water.

A professional lifeguard with five years of experience and a background in Aqua Fitness instruction, Nenuka has spent his career keeping people safe and active — and his passion for fitness, swimming, and helping others thrive has never wavered.

When IQ Lifestyle was selected as the chosen education provider for Jumeirah Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, Nenuka was part of the team there and seized the opportunity to deepen his knowledge and expand his skill set. Although he already had experience as an Aqua Fitness Instructor, he wanted to develop further — gaining a deeper understanding of formats, programming, and teaching techniques in the water. He completed both his Group Exercise to Music and Aqua Fitness certifications with IQ Lifestyle — elevating his aqua fitness delivery to a new level while also adding land-based group fitness to his repertoire, giving him the confidence and competence to lead a much wider variety of classes.

For Nenuka, it was about more than just adding qualifications. It was about growing as a fitness professional — moving beyond his role as a lifeguard to become a fully rounded instructor capable of leading dynamic, engaging classes for a diverse range of participants.
