We recently held our latest community networking event at IQ Lifestyle, and it reminded us why we've built our business the way we have.

We work with a lot of freelancers in this industry. And freelancing — by nature — can be isolating. That's why now, more than ever, people are craving a genuine sense of belonging and connection.

But here's the thing: you can't force community. You can't just put people in a room together and call it culture.

The "Easy In, Easy Out" Mindset

A lot of businesses see freelancers as an easy option — easy in, easy out, no real commitment either way. And because there's no real relationship behind it, those businesses often end up anxious about connections. They get possessive over clients, worried that someone else might build a relationship and "take" them away.

But when you actually understand the freelance mindset, you realise freelancers can be some of the most loyal people you'll ever work with. It's not about easy in, easy out at all — it's a completely different way of working, built on trust rather than control.

Working as One Team

From day one, IQ Lifestyle has been built around one principle — working as one unit, one team. Not a roster of names on a spreadsheet, but people we know individually.
