The Level 2 Award in Delivering Padwork Sessions teaches certified fitness instructors how to safely and effectively deliver boxing and kickboxing padwork sessions to clients. Awarded by Focus Awards (Ofqual-regulated, UK) and recognised by REPS UAE, this qualification adds a high-demand specialist skill to your existing fitness credentials.

This is a one-day face-to-face course, combined with home study to complete alongside your training day.

Entry Requirements

• You should already be registered with REPS UAE

• If you are not yet REPS UAE registered, other relevant fitness qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

• As a general guide, you should hold at least a minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor certification (or equivalent) before taking this course

What You'll Study

1. The Basics

• Boxing stances — orthodox and southpaw — and how to keep balance

• Basic punches: jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts

• Kickboxing strikes: roundhouse kicks, teeps (push kicks) and knees

2. Guarding and Defence

• Catching — how to absorb a punch safely without injury to wrists or partner

• Parrying and dodging — teaching clients to weave, block and slip punches

• Pad holding techniques for Focus Mitts and Thai Pads across different strikes

3. Session Planning

• Designing safe warm-up and cool-down routines

• Building flowing punch and kick combinations

• Adapting sessions safely for all fitness levels

4. Anatomy and Physiology

• Energy systems used during high-intensity striking

• Core, arm and leg muscles engaged in striking movements

• Joint safety during high-impact padwork

5. Teaching Skills

• Clear verbal and physical cueing for strikes

• Giving effective feedback to correct client form

• Running padwork routines for group classes

Assessment

• Practical observation of your padwork delivery

• Completion of course worksheets

• Design and delivery of your own padwork session programme

• Theory assessment via multiple-choice examination
